Itinerary
Stop at: Sad Night Tree
Calzada Mexico-Tacuba y Cañitas, Mexico City 08769, Mexico
This will be the meeting point of our 5-hour gastronomic tour through the still unexplored district of Azcapotzalco. From here we will begin to discover the vibrant diversity that defines the cuisine of Mexico City: a journey that goes from sophisticated culinary proposals to the classic street cravings, framed by a journey through time and territory, between visible monuments and hidden traces of the stratified history of the city.
Duration: 1 hour
Stopped in: Azcapotzalco
Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico City Centre and Gulf Coast
We will start the experience as much of the neighborhood does: with an aromatic pot coffee, spicy and comforting, accompanied by fresh bread. The second breakfast will take us to something truly special: night-dressed eggs, enchiladas, freshly prepared juices and other memorable delights in a family street restaurant that has won a place among the best in Mexico City.
Later on, we will try tacks full of flavor, a wink to the old slaughterhouses that once occupied this area. We will also visit an artisan tortilery and, in a third generation street post, we will taste drinks whose roots go back to the Aztec era.
The tour culminates in a canteen with more than 110 years of history, founded by an Italian family, where we will enjoy the cocktail of the house and small dishes that reflect both the classical Mexican tradition and the European heritage of its creators.
